Dear Girls - Hello and Happy New Year.  This is from Monica, I play for Prime Time and the Starz.  You may have seen a news story on channel 12 or a Newsday article from yesterday - a house fire in Miller Place.  The house was destroyed and one occupant had to jump 20 feet to safety.  One of our players, many of you know her, "Kim Q," now KIM ROMANO (she's been in the LILSL for many years!) was renting the upstairs of that house. She was at work.  Her 20 year old daughter, Lexi, was trapped upstairs and jumped, with flames at her back. Kim was rushing home and listening to the whole thing unfold through Lexi's cell phone!  They lived on their own and LOST EVERYTHING.  Kim is now staying with a friend. 

We have begun to get necessities to them, from socks, shoes, boots, to food, makeup, hats, clothes, gloves, etc. 

I'm wondering if you and your teammates would like to help out.  Right now cash and Gift Card donations are really needed.  I'm going to go by the home where Kim is staying tomorrow and help sort out the clothing donations she has already received.  If you would prefer to donate needed items I will let you know tomorrow what else Kim and Lexi need.
