CAUSES

My name is Rose McGuire and I play on the Challengers in D1.  My sisters also play in the league.  Colleen Reid is on my team and my sister Mary Hanley plays for the Patriots.  The reason I am writing you is to ask a favor. 

My older sister Marys' son Chancellor was diagnosed with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome, Finnish Type at 2 months old. After enduring a shaky first year of hospitalization (yes, he spent the whole first 16 months of his life at Stony Brook Hospital!!!), CHANCELLOR HAD A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT AT 14 MONTHS OLD! Thanks to his very brave and courageous Aunt Colleen (my younger sister), Chancellor was given an opportunity to enjoy life. Unfortunately, THERE IS NO CURE for Nephrotic Syndrome and Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Kidney transplants only last 10-15 years :o(.
